To bound the body with both gentle and abrasive material is an act of pleasure and pain. The series rope + ribbon (2020) is an exploration of textures and bodily sensations. Inviting negative space into the frame enables the viewer a sense of clarity, allowing a sharper encounter with the surfaces and impressions presented.
